QR code menu + built-in generator

QR Code Menu for Restaurants

A restaurant QR menu is a scannable code that opens the current digital menu in the guest’s web browser. With IAMenu, the QR points to a live menu, so restaurants can update dishes, prices and availability without printing a new code.

The QR menu and QR generator are one workflow on this page. Table ordering is a separate capability: scanning to read does not automatically mean the guest can place or pay for an order.

How it works

Create, place and maintain the restaurant QR

The useful part is not the square image alone—it is the maintained menu behind it.

  1. 01

    Prepare the live menu

Review restaurant information, dishes, prices, images, languages and allergen labels.

  2. 02

    Generate the QR

Create the menu QR and choose the available presentation or table-sign options.

  3. 03

Place it where guests need it

Download and print the approved asset for tables, counters, windows or room-service material.

  4. 04

    Update without reprinting

Change the menu in IAMenu; the existing QR continues to open the current version.

More than a static QR image

A QR code generator is included, but the live menu behind the code is what makes it operational.

Browser-based menu

Guests open the menu without installing an app or creating an account.

Live menu changes

Publish edits to dishes, prices and availability while keeping the same QR destination.

Multilingual access

Offer enabled menu languages and let the guest switch when translations are available.

Custom QR assets

Use supported colors, logo and table-sign designs, with contrast guidance for scan reliability.

PDF companion

Create printable menu output from the same maintained menu when a physical format is needed.

Scan analytics

Review available menu scan and usage data according to the active plan.

QR menu, QR ordering and payment are different things

This QR menu page covers

  • Creating a QR for the restaurant’s live browser menu
  • Updating the linked menu without replacing the printed code
  • Displaying translations, images and reviewed menu information

This page does not imply

  • Scanning alone does not place an order
  • IAMenu does not process in-app card payments
  • A QR menu is not a delivery marketplace or a fiscal POS

QR code menus: common questions

How do I create a QR code menu for a restaurant?

Create or import the menu, review the customer view, generate the QR in IAMenu, download the approved asset and place it where guests can scan it.

Do guests need a QR menu app?

No. The guest uses the phone camera or built-in QR scanner and the menu opens in a standard web browser.

Do I need a new QR code when a price changes?

No. The QR opens a stable menu URL. Updating the linked menu changes what guests see without changing the printed code.

Is the QR menu generator free?

IAMenu has no free plan. QR menu tools can be evaluated during the 14-day Professional trial, and plan capabilities are listed on the pricing page.

Can guests order from the QR menu?

They can when the restaurant has enabled and configured an eligible QR ordering mode. Menu viewing itself remains separate and does not automatically send an order.

Create the menu first. Let the QR stay current.

Build or import the menu, review the live customer view, and generate the QR only when the restaurant is ready to publish.
