AI Waiter for Restaurants, inside your menu

IAMenu’s AI waiter helps guests inside the restaurant’s digital menu: it recommends dishes from the real menu, answers questions about ingredients and allergens with the information recorded for each dish, and takes bookings by chat. It does not order for the guest: when it recommends a dish, the guest adds it and sends the order from the menu.

What does IAMenu’s AI waiter do?

What a good waiter does when asked, on the menu the guest has on their phone.

Recommends from your real menu

It suggests dishes from your menu and only your menu: it knows what is sold out today and what is served at another time.

Answers allergen and diet questions

When the guest asks, it answers with the allergens and ingredients recorded for each dish. If something is not recorded, it says so.

Takes bookings by chat

It collects date, time, party size and contact details, checks real availability and creates the reservation. If the guest leaves an email, the confirmation goes there.

Helps guests order without ordering for them

When it recommends a dish, a button appears to add it, and the guest taps it. The guest sends the order from the menu.

Speaks the guest’s language

It replies in the language the guest writes in, about the same menu the guest is looking at.

What it does not do, on purpose

  • It never adds anything to the basket on its own or sends an order: that is always the guest’s decision.
  • It never guarantees that a dish is free from an allergen: it reports what is recorded and, if someone has an allergy, asks them to confirm with the staff.
  • It does not make up what is not on the menu: no invented dishes, prices or reasons why something is not served today.

Available features depend on the current plan: see the plans.

What to ask before choosing an AI waiter

Does it read your real menu or a copy?

If it works from a copy, every sold-out dish or new price has to be changed twice.

What does it do with allergens?

It has to tell “does not contain” apart from “not recorded”, and not promise what the kitchen cannot guarantee.

Does it decide for the guest?

Recommending helps; adding things to an order the guest did not choose leads to complaints.

Do bookings reach your dashboard?

A booking the assistant accepts has to appear where you already manage the rest, with its confirmation.

AI waiter FAQ

What is an AI waiter for restaurants?

It is an artificial-intelligence assistant that helps guests inside the digital menu: it recommends dishes, answers questions about ingredients and allergens and helps them book a table or put together their order, so staff do not have to come to the table for every question.

Does IAMenu’s AI waiter place orders by itself?

No. It recommends and, when it suggests a dish, shows a button to add it; the guest taps it. The guest sends the order from the menu, like any QR order.

Can it take reservations?

Yes. It collects the details by chat (date, time, party size and contact), checks real availability against your opening hours and booking rules, and creates the reservation. If the guest leaves an email, they receive the confirmation with a link to cancel. The restaurant decides whether the AI waiter can take bookings.

What does it say when asked about allergens?

It answers with the allergens and ingredients recorded for each dish. “Not recorded” is not the same as “does not contain”, and it says so. It never guarantees a dish is safe: if someone declares an allergy, it asks them to confirm with the staff.

Which languages does it speak?

It replies in the language the guest writes in. The menu itself can also be read in more than 50 languages from the catalogue (how many at once depends on the plan).

How is it different from the AI receptionist?

The AI waiter helps guests inside the digital menu, once they have it open, and it is available today. The AI receptionist will handle the calls and messages that reach the restaurant: it is launching and will be available soon.

Is it the same as the waiter order-taking app?

No. The order-taking app is the tool your staff use to take orders on a phone. The AI waiter talks to the guest.

Menu, reservations and orders in one system

The AI waiter works on the same digital menu that translates your menu, suggests allergens, takes reservations and receives QR orders.
